Who'd have thought that we would have to cancel our event due to forest fires two years in a row! Alas, folks, that's just what we had to do again this year. We have a 47,000 acre (as of 9/3/00) fire burning nearby and once again, there's a large presence of firefighting helicopters and support staff at our airport.

Although this year is another wash, we haven't given up on the event! The planning group is already thinking about next year and the general thoughts are to try to reschedule the event a little earlier in the year. August and September seem to be a poor time to plan things at our airport.
